3 Wide Life in Production for New Season to Launch March 09
First episode filmed at Chili Bowl and will feature NASCAR stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne along with many others.
Charlotte, NC (January 21, 2009)- Thirteen new episodes of the nationally syndicated motorsports program 3 Wide Life are currently in production, and the new season looks to continue riding the momentum of the growing popularity of the series. The show, which is available in 94 million homes, focuses on the behind the scenes of racing and will open the 2009 season in March with a feature episode from The Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
3 Wide Life will spotlight the indoor midget classic with unprecedented behind the scenes footage that you cant see anywhere else. All the big names from the event will be showcased including a special interview with Tony Stewart.
Stewart spent some time with former NASCAR driver Shane Hmiel and talked about the Chili Bowl as well as Hmiel’s struggles, while at the same time offering advice to him on how to win the prestigious event. Hmiel has a regular segment on the show where he answers emails, giving advice and motivation to make sure up and coming racers don’t take the same route that he did.
3 Wide Life’s goal is to provide an outlet for exposure to drivers, team members, owners, and other employees in the industry, that don’t necessarily get the same attention as some of the big names. The show is also aimed at the “real racer” and targets stars like Kasey Kahne, but does so in order to show that these guys are racers no matter the situation. For instance, with Kahne – 3 Wide Life explores his role as a team owner as opposed to a NASCAR driver.
The idea to focus on grass roots racing series along with the big series like NASCAR, INDY, and the NHRA has really caught on with the race fan. It also fills a void for sponsors and advertisers that want to reach the racing demographic, but within an affordable budget. Brands looking to gain exposure to the “real race fan” can do so through special segments in the show as well as sponsorship and advertising.
3 Wide Life is an educational program that helps racers learn what it takes to become a player at the top levels. It also features other ways to have a career in the motorsports industry outside of driving the car. Through a special partnership with Circle Track Magazine the show has created a segment called “Tech Zone” in which viewers are taught how a particular part of the car works, how it’s made or how to use it. The segment’s moniker is “real tech for real racers” and features Tony Rizzuti as he travels to some of the industry’s smartest and most well respected people’s shops, homes, and sometimes he even catches up with them at the track.
3 Wide Life can be seen on regional sports networks across the country as well as many local broadcast stations, and also the newest national sports network “Untamed Sports.” The show is the brainchild of Steve Pruett and Ryan Kurek – owners of Leverage Sports, a motorsports marketing agency.
Each episode is produced and directed by Parker Williams and Chris Trainor. “We are onto something big,” says Williams. “The fans love what we are doing. Racers and race fans are getting back to their roots and we want to give them what they desire. A real look at racing with no fluff. “
